Hello!

My name is Lianne Sikkema, an ambitious human, cinematography enthusiast and BS Graduate based in The Netherlands. In September 2017, I started my course in Communication and Multimedia Design at the Hogeschool Utrecht. During my studies abroad for this, I was enrolled at Manchester Metropolitan University for a Minor in English Film and Literature. Here, I also briefly worked for a fashion print design studio and a start-up interactive art experience, and did some freelance work with Warrington’'s Labour Party council. Thereafter I resumed my studies in Utrecht; having completed a specialization in Brand Communications, an internship in the roll of Communication Manager at the Royal Netherlands Navy, and my final thesis as Internal Communications Advisor for Nuclear Research and consultancy Group (NRG).

A term I like to describe myself with is 'conceptual', because to me, this is a wonderful metaphor for always being in motion, not being defined by any given shape. I continuously try to adjust and adapt in order to get the most out of myself and my abilities. Learning never exhausts the mind.

My strongest skills lie within creative thinking and visualisation. I have loved dreaming up and visualising fictional stories since I was a child. This is where my passion for the art of communication through visual storytelling comes from. In illustration and graphic design, I am able to translate messages of verbal communication into visuals and (moving) image.
